Singular “they” resource
Note to self: bookmark this post by Gabe Doyle at Motivated Grammar in case of future need to convince anyone that singular “they” is not incorrect English. Also references the classic Language Log posts on same.

Interesting post. However, in places like LinkedIn and Facebook and other social sites, I think this is a glaring error and it drives me nuts every time I see it. "Susie So and So updated THEIR profile." Ugh. It would be so simple for Facebook et al to program this to work correctly.
